so its America's "Birthday" and i have nothing to do... thinking of purchasing illegal fireworks and send them off at dolores park... but i think i might get arrested if i do that... so maybe i should just purchase a 6 pack of corona and drink myself silly on my roof and watch the fireworks tonight... but that could be dangerous and i could fall off my roof... oh what is a girl to do...

i am now so bad at ballet my travelling steps were farcicle. all i had to do was walk three steps forward, pose, go three back. EVERY TIME i did three and a half. i used to make my last ballet teacher weep in frustration. this one just thinks i'm mentally ill. i was going to tell him i had a learning disability so he would let me off lightly....

i didn't know you danced... i had to give up ballet about 2 years ago because i got into a motorcycle accident and destroyed my knees. how long have you done ballet?

well.... two weeks :D

i went to lessons when i was 5 and my mum decided i was too shy to do it even though i *really* wanted to. i just didn't want her there cos she laughed at me.

then i took up again at uni for a few years. haven't danced in aaaaaaaages and now i have chunky thighs so i thought i would give it another go. i am so appalling bad though, i have no turnout, no flexibility or anything. most of all though i can't sequence things very easily and i have very few motor patterns so i might as wel be dyspraxic. i can't think about my legs and arms at the same time, and count a beat and i just basically fail.

oh jeez. =/

ballet is pretty damn hard especially when you haven't done it in sooo long. you should try modern dance instead. it has some of the same technique as ballet but you are a bit more free with your body, so there is a bit more leeway to fuck up.

plus you get the same work out as ballet.

no.

i've done some classes like the Beyonce one (awful) and Britney and some Michael Jackson which are fun. but generally i hate modern dance and i hate modern music.

oh... well nevermind then.....
well actually: i think modern dance is wonderful: jose limon and martha graham are brilliant. if you haven't heard of them you should check them out.. because those two = modern dance.
there is a lot of shit out there that is considered "modern dance" these days. its unfortunate.
and most of the modern dance stuff i have seen is danced to classical music....

i'm just saying...

edit: i meant modern dance as in classic modern dance not like beyonce pop dance stuff....

and as for dance - contemorary dance is the best just saw Sutra at saddlers wells - and it was inspiring, long time since ive seen something like that - should do it more often.

here's a video which doesnt really do it justice - but you'll get the gist.
