@likealice: she doesn't come on anymore, her username was mathsparanoia. i'm second, hello from the st george area :)
why would you want to move to london or melbourne? the climate's terrible.

@kyle: would your parents take you to the BDO? it's 18+ innit? who is their record label here? isn't it just warner? i'm sorry kyle, but hardly anyone considers WA in their tours.

^^ BDO isn't 18+, but if you're 18+ and want to drink you have to spend about three hours in a queue to get a special coloured wristband to wave in the face of the alcohol sellers.

Last time I went to BDO (2008) they ran out of water.. not such a good thing in the middle of summer in New Zealand (though AUS would undoubtedly be worse to be fair).

@fang: ahh. cool :) didn't realise you were from sydney too. you're a youngin' though, yeah? well, younger than my 21... (though, on these boards it doesn't seem so hard to do!).

Yeah, BDO is 15+. My friend and I got the 18+ wristbands last time we went ('07). We got in right as they opened the gates. Got the wristbands. Got 2 drinks... and that was it because of the lines. Actually, I think we went back at 4-ish because the lines were short again. So really, it's not worth it unless you want to spend half your time in the lines.

I generally don't drink much when I see bands anyway. No point forgetting it all. Only concert I've had a lot at was MGMT. Apparently they're shit live, but I had the time of my life. Haha.

@Alice: good work on getting in sharpish and beating the lines, I don't drink at BDO, just because it gets so hot (as an English person who moved to a hot country, I still melt sometimes, though I am slowly getting used to it) and I think I'd just die of sehydration if I did. Usually enjoy a few drinks at normal gigs though, the bars around Wellington that bands play at are awesome.

@Kirsty: I too have no idea what a double denim party is, though I googled it and there is a facebook group dedicated to them, with it's category listed as "Common Interest - Sexuality"

Ahh. So.... Sydney BDO tickets have gone on sale an hour & a half early and I bought them... But I'm a little worried I'm going to be screwed out of my money.

edit: Crisis averted, they're honouring the tickets. Yay!

^ good work! The great thing about NZ is that if you want to go, you can pretty much buy tickets whenever you want. I think last year it sold out sometime after the third announcement, but I'm confident that I can leave it until after the second to decide whether I'm going to go or not and still get tickets easily :D

^ I wish it was like that for Sydney tickets. It's so stressful! And now they've gone and announced a second Sydney show because of the fuck up & demand for tickets.

And generally, I hear there are pretty strong rumours that Florence might be on the second announcement, which would certainly be a nice addition, and would pretty much guarantee my attendence as my brother is kind've in love with her.

Where Florence goes, I will follow.
Girls that sing - super hot.
Girls that sing like Florence - [there are not words].
